Psycho-Oncology: Supporting the Mental Health of Oncology Patients

Melissa Holt, DNP, PMHNP-BC

December 3 • 12:00 – 1:00 PM EST

Psycho-oncology can improve the overall well-being of cancer patients by reducing psychological distress and enhancing coping skills. The psycho-oncology team usually consists of various disciplines such as psychiatrists, social workers, psychologists, and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners. Interventions can include psychotherapy, psychiatric medication management, education, and community resource planning. This webinar will provide an overview of the field of psycho-oncology and the various interventions that we provide to improve a patient's quality of life while receiving cancer care.
