
Therapeutic Management of Lymphedema -SPOC
Valerie W. Collins, PT, CLT-LANA and Amber Cobia, PT, DPT, CLT will introduce the audience to the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system, who is at risk of developing lymphedema, and therapeutic interventions for both mild and severe cases of lymphedema.
Target Audience
These courses are intended for medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists, hematologists, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, physician assistants, radiologic technologists, researchers, pharmacists, trainees, allied health personnel, and others who are interested in care for patients and survivors in North Carolina.
Learning Objectives
- Describe basic anatomy and normal function of the lymphatic system.
- Identify who is at risk for developing lymphedema and who is appropriate for referral to lymphedema therapy
- Discuss treatment options for lymphedema
