Integrating the Caregiver as a Member of the Multidisciplinary Care Team - SPOC

Erin Kent, PhD, MSc and Loretta Muss RN, BA will discuss How to recruit the caregiver into the patient’s plan of care and understanding the role and the stresses of being an oncology caregiver.

Target Audience

These courses are intended for medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists, hematologists, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, physician assistants, radiologic technologists, researchers, pharmacists, trainees, allied health personnel, and others who are interested in care for patients and survivors in North Carolina.

Learning Objectives

  •     Describe who caregivers are and how they assist patients with cancer.
  •     Explain how caregiving can take a toll on caregivers' own health.
  •     List different ways that caregivers can be supported and integrated into the multidisciplinary care team.
