
Discovery of novel drivers of malignancy in triple negative breast cancer - LIVE
Webinar InformationWebinar Description Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is the most aggressive breast cancer subtype and has the highest rates of metastasis. We have found that Dishevelled (DVL) proteins, which are potent regulators of development, are aberrantly overexpressed in human breast tumors. Moreover, significant racial disparities exist in TNBC, notably affecting African American women with higher diagnosis rates, earlier onset, and lower survival outcomes compared to White women. However, the drivers of this disparity remain unclear. Our preliminary studies demonstrate that inhibition or individual DVL paralogs significantly reduces tumor growth and increases survival across multiple preclinical BC models. Further, we show that depletion of DVL proteins leads to dramatic alterations in genetic programs that influence heterotypic interactions with the tumor immune microenvironment and modulate immunogenicity. This webinar will share the latest ongoing studies that investigate how tumor-intrinsic inhibition of either DVL proteins reprograms the tumor microenvironment and increases the susceptibility of the tumor to anti-tumor immune responses. |
