A highlight of how Levine Cancer Institute has formed a bidirectional relationship with the Catawba Indian Nation (Catawba Service Unit). As November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month, we will highlight the mobile lung cancer screening unit as part of the portfolio of screening modalities provided by the Disparities and Outreach/Community Outreach and Engagement Program at Levine Cancer Institute

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the relationship between the Levine Cancer Institute and the Catawba Indian Nation
  • Explain the varieties of programs being offered to the Catawba Indian Nation via the Catawba Service Unit
  • Discuss Lung Cancer Screening and use of Mobile Units in reaching underserved populations.
  • Describe the early observations found specifically at the Catawba Service Unit when mobile screening was implemented

The Southeastern American Indian Cancer Health Equity Partnership (SAICEP) is a unique collaboration initiated by the Community Outreach and Engagement teams at the NCI Comprehensive Cancer Center at Duke, UNC Lineberger and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, with a focus on understanding and addressing the cancer-related health needs of American Indian communities in our catchment areas and beyond.

These webinars provide FREE continuing education credit.
