Webinar Description

The purpose of this Webinar is to explain the role of specialty pharmacies. We will discuss accreditation requirements for specialty pharmacies, process to determine which medications are considered specialty and specifically the benefits of a healthcare system specialty pharmacy.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the process a specialty pharmacy goes through for accreditation.
  • Discuss the process for considering which drugs fit the criteria for "Specialty Pharmacy"
  • Provide an overview of a typical specialty pharmacy workflow
  • Compare Health system-based specialty pharmacy vs non-Health system-based specialty pharmacy.

    The Cancer Treatment in North Carolina: Patient Centered Care webinar series covers components of patient-centered health care delivery in cancer treatment and survivorship. The focus of this series is not disease-specific but includes discussion of approaches to improving care delivery for all cancer patients and survivors.
