Webinar Description

Dana Casey, MD, from the UNC Lineberger Radiation Oncology group will describe relevant updates in radiation oncology for health care providers throughout the state of North Carolina. This lecture will highlight updates in methods to increase the efficacy of radiation therapy, shorten treatment time, and minimize toxicity.

Target Audience

These courses are intended for medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists, hematologists, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, radiologic technologists, researchers, pharmacists, trainees, and others who are interested in care of patients with cancer in North Carolina.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe the utilization and efficacy of hypofractionation.
  • Discuss methods to improve the anti-tumor effect of radiation, such as the combination of immunotherapy with radiation.
  • Recognize techniques to limit radiation-induced toxicity.
