
Psycho-Social Complications of Receiving a Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment During the Pandemic - LIVE
This presentation will focus on the unique psychosocial complications related to being diagnosed with - and treated for - cancer during the COVID pandemic.
Target Audience
These courses are intended for medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists, hematologists, advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, physician assistants, radiologic technologists, researchers, pharmacists, trainees, allied health personnel, and others who are interested in care for patients and survivors in North Carolina.
Learning Objectives
- Describe pandemic-related factors that contribute to the distress experienced by patients diagnosed with and treated for cancers
- Recognize how the psychosocial functioning of patients being treated for cancer is affected by the confluence of pandemic-related stressors and concerns of mortality
- Identify strategies that patients being treated for cancer during the pandemic can utilize to address psychosocial distress and promote adaptive coping
