Calendar Setup

UNCLCN sets up Outlook calendar invites for organizers and presenters. Calendar invites will not contain Panelist Zoom links as we cannot access anyone’s individualized Panelist Zoom link.

The only way to get calendar .ics files is to enroll in the course.

On enrollment, confirmation emails are sent for each class, and each email contain the .ics file for that class.

Calendar Invites

UNCLCN sets up Outlook calendar invites for organizers and presenters.

Calendar invites do not contain Panelist Zoom links as we cannot access anyone’s individualized Panelist Zoom link.

Zoom Panelist Links

Organizers and instructors will receive their own individualized Panelist Zoom Link on the morning of each class.

The Panelist Zoom links are sent directly from Zoom, but the email indicates that it is from UNCLCN LMS.

Do not share your Panelist Zoom link with anyone: each Panelist Zoom link only works for one person.

If someone else uses your Panelist Zoom link to get into the class, you will not be able to enter using that same link.

Presenter PowerPoint Files

Please ask presenters to send a copy of their PowerPoint files to Oliver Marth and Jon Powell at UNCLCN.

We ask for a copy of the PPT file for two reasons:

  • We provide a backup method of presenting in case there are problems with Zoom
  • We create PDF handouts for the students

Zoom Polls

Instructors can poll students to learn their knowledge of something before presenting it or to see how well they understood what was discussed

To set up Zoom polls, email the polling questions to Oliver Marth and Jon Powell at UNCLCN at least 24 hours prior to the class meeting.

No Case Study for the First Class

The instructors prefer not to have a case study the first day of class.

They prefer to use the first day of class to try to get students set up in the Learning Portal.

They meet their students as a group, but there is always a delay the first few days as students get used to the Learning Portal.

The instructors also like to test the technology in the room before classes start.

Attendance Rosters

After each class, UNCLCN emails attendance rosters to the instructors.

Topic and Slide Review Sessions

Topic and Slide Review sessions run from 1:00 to 1:45 PM.

Exams

Exams run from 12:30 to 2:15 PM.
