Webinar Description

Endometrial cancer is the only major cancer type to be increasing in both frequency and mortality. In addition and for unknown reasons, endometrial cancer is more common and more deadly in Black women, with a two fold higher mortality rate for Black women compared to White women. This webinar will focus on the genomic and microbiomic factors that may contribute to this cancer disparity for Black women, including potential intersections of biology with social determinants of health.

Learning Objectives

  • To discuss the potential underlying causes of racial disparities in endometrial cancer
  • To describe the relationship between molecular subtypes and race in endometrial cancer
  • To describe microbiota differences according to race and obesity status in endometrial cancer pathogenesis.
