Technical Instructions & Sample Collection​

Course Description

This module aims to explain sample collection techniques for the different types of cervical cancer screening. It will provide a detailed explanation of these techniques and include information on HPV self-testing.

Learning Objectives

  • Review the basic preparation prior to performing a pap smear
  • Explain sample collection techniques for different types of cervical cancer screening
  • Review the most commonly used devices for pap smear collection
  • Discuss newer screening modalities for cervical cancer screening

Learning Outcome

  • Participants will score 80% or higher on the post activity assessment, demonstrating understanding of cervical cancer screening sample collection.

It is the UNC Lineberger Cancer Network's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC Part 2 credit.
