This presentation focuses on the unique psychosocial complications related to being diagnosed with - and treated for - cancer during the COVID pandemic.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe pandemic-related factors that contribute to the distress experienced by patients diagnosed with and treated for cancers
  • Recognize how the psychosocial functioning of patients being treated for cancer is affected by the confluence of pandemic-related stressors and concerns of mortality
  • Identify strategies that patients being treated for cancer during the pandemic can utilize to address psychosocial distress and promote adaptive coping
