A broad overview of the multidisciplinary approaches for the treatment of soft tissue sarcomas in adults, and detailed updates in management with systemic therapies. Specific attention is paid to sarcoma sub-types which may warrant special considerations.

Learning Objectives

  • Recognize key points of initial workup and diagnosis when a soft tissue or bone sarcoma is suspected
  • Describe the front line therapies for patients with common STS subtypes, including those for patients who may not be candidates for more intensive IV chemotherapy
  • Identify high-risk and/or rare bone and soft tissue sarcoma sub-types that warrant evaluation at a high-volume center experienced in the management of sarcoma

Cancer Treatment in North Carolina: Research to Practice (formerly Medical and Surgical Oncology) webinars cover the spectrum of anti-cancer therapy, with a focus on recent research developments, both locally and at large, and what’s ready for regular practice. Perspectives from medical oncology, radiation oncology, and surgery will be included.

This series incorporates an understanding of practice dynamics and concerns throughout the state of North Carolina, and the availability of clinical trials and subspecialty expertise to inform care.
