Thoracic Surgical Oncology SPOC
Thoracic surgery is an integral part of the multidisciplinary management of patients with lung cancer. This lecture discusses approaches to lung tumor resection and areas of future investigation in treatment of advanced lung cancer.
Target Audience
These courses are intended for medical, radiation, and surgical oncologists, hematologists, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, radiologic technologists, researchers, pharmacists, trainees, and others who are interested in care of patients with cancer in North Carolina.
Learning Objectives
- Describe approaches to lung cancer resection based on tumor size and location
- Compare treatment strategies for advanced lung cancer
- Discuss the advantages of a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer
