Caring for the Patient with Lung Cancer 2020 – SPOC

This presentation will provide the basics for lung cancer patient care with updated guidelines and needs prior to starting the treatment process.  We will start with symptoms leading to diagnosis and the steps that one will go through to obtain accurate information to start treatment.  It is an ever-evolving process with lung cancer to help increase survival and quality of life.

Target Audience

These courses are designed for students enrolled in health sciences programs and the community colleges across the state of North Carolina.

Learning Objectives

Identify the process for diagnosis of lung cancer

Demonstrate knowledge in complete staging and treatment needs prior to starting a patient treatment program

Identify and explain the needs of patients who are newly diagnosed and the needs to assist them in the processing of and treatment of lung cancer
