Next Generation Cancer Care Navigation

Webinar Information

Webinar Description

William Wood, MD, MPH will review ways to expand traditional clinic-based cancer navigation to population-based cancer navigation using a central navigation approach. We will discuss how this approach can foster equity in care delivery and outcomes, while incorporating new initiatives that promote quality improvement. We will also talk about how this work fits into the current national environment that surrounds cancer navigation, including the recent development of a learning community and of new proposed billing codes that support the delivery of navigation services.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify informatics tools that can facilitate population-based cancer care navigation.
  • Discuss how population-based cancer care navigation can be designed with equity in mind.
  • List current national initiatives that have been developed to support the development and sustainability of cancer care navigation.
